Dublin.. Here I Come…

Well, I’m off… following the gypsy feet again.
I’m headed to Dublin, Ireland this weekend for 5 whole days. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, or what all I’ll be seeing (other than the Guinness Factory) but I’m sure there will be pictures.
So, in the meantime, know that a goodly portion of the photos from Prague and the bone church in Kutna Hora are up on my flickr site – but I’m still missing the last day there. Also, I’m still missing the day trip to the midevil town here in Germany on there. They’ll get there though – at this rate, sometime next summer (kidding).
In the meantime, here’s a few for a preview – the rest can be found at:

Dinner with Barack anyone?

How Cool is this?
For the next week – anyone who donates money to the Barack Obama Campaign will be put into a drawing to have dinner with the man himself. Yes, folks, fly you in, be one of 4 to sit down and discuss with him what you feel needs to happen in the US.
So, take the chance, donate now (even if it’s just $5) – and who knows, you might just get to meet and have dinner with the future President of the USA.
Oh – and if you do win, and you do get to meet him, pick me up an autograph- would you?

4000 Deaths

of American Soldiers since the war in Iraq began. Still, I’m speechless – because these are the people of my generation who are dying.

Do we ever stop looking or holding our breath? Those of us who have friends and family there? It seems like I check the news footage and the videos and yes, even the lists to make sure that my friends and my family aren’t on it. I know, in my heart, that the answer is No. We never stop looking – and Thanking God that for one more day, they are still alive.

So, for the 4000 families who have lost that special person, I send my heart felt Thanks. I can’t replace them, I can’t tell you how much we as a people appreciate their service. All I can do is make a promise that I too am doing my best to make sure that we have a new leader, an honest leader, and one who will attempt to get us out of there so that other families will not have to suffer the same emotions.

And Now, A Moment of Silence, in honor of the 4000 casualty who I’m sure won’t be the last….
