I always have said if I could figure out how to make money from my photography, I would love to do it. It’s something I love to do – and I am practically obsessed with it.
A couple weeks ago, they had a contest at work – and I decided to enter a few photos in the competition. This was one of them:
I found out this week that my sunflower got noticed… under “seasons” and is being voted on as a semi finalist. Cross your fingers for me !
Some stats on the contest –
Over 6,000 images were submitted to 8 Different Categories
which leaves 48 pictures that made it into the semi finals;
or less than 1% chance that my photo would make it that far.
I’m pleased as punch to have one of mine picked – and even if it doesn’t win (my favorite above isn’t my picture – it’s the lily pad and lily) I’m just darn happy.
Play this and as it’s playing, read the following….
Earlier this summer, there was a program sponsored by work and a healthy living/environmental goal program that went hand in hand.
The goal was to ride your bike to work (or take public transportation / bike combo) for the 90 days between June 1 and August 31. I decided to participate. Some stats –
Of the 90 days – I rode my bike to/from work 42 days.
It’s 14 KM round trip, or just over 7 miles.
That equates to 588 KM ridden – or 365.5 Miles –
That’s nearly distance between Atlanta, Georgia and Memphis Tennessee or for those of us in Europe -Berlin, Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark.
And.. that’s only what I was riding to/from work. These stats don’t include ANY of the month of April (I rode 9 days there), May (13 days) nor does it include any of my to/from the train station, grocery shopping or any other errands.
