I already knew this, but I thought I’d mention it again – just in passing.

NEVER EVER trust the color on the box….

because it’s not going to turn out that way. It *might* be close, but usually um.. not so much.

So, what brought this topic up? Over the weekend, I bought some hair color – yeah.. you know how it goes. I was bored, and decided what the hell.

So, the color on the box was a medium to dark sort of red. You could even call it auburn.

The color when the hair was done? Ugh. Violet with a red cast in bright light, but so dark it’s almost black at the ends. No, it’s not bad, and yes, it’ll be fine (so says I who has had my hair black, blue, and almost florescent purple). It’s just darker than my normal hair color. I’m sure I’ll take some pictures in the future and put them up. In the meantime, listen to the girl who says….

Never Ever trust the color on the box.

Oh – did I mention that (after checking the box) the color number was 6.66? Could be a sign… if you believe in them….But… then… maybe… it’s some sort of sweet poetic justice.
