Variety Stitch Green & Violet Crib blanket

Variety Stitch Crib baby blanket, completed 8/2014. #phoenixrosedesign #crochet #handmade #handwork #sold #etsy #craft #craftylady #yarn #wool #creative

Back in August of 2014, I completed a variety stitch baby blanket. We weren’t sure what the gender was going to be, so it was done in semi neutral colors of green violet and yellow. The key with this blanket is that it came off of someone seeing the one I had made in July for someone else and really liking what I did there. They wanted something similar – but in bright colors. The end result? I think it turned out great!

The blanket itself had lots of texture, having some shell stitches, some wave stitches, a few honeycomb stitches, and then a few V-type stitches. I think it turned out really nice for a little boy or girl.

Cotton Candy Dress for Baby

Crochet for baby...

What’s on my hook today? Any guesses what it is?

Cotton Candy for baby crochet baby dress in pink and pale sherbet green. Newborn size. #phoenixrosedesign #pink #green #sherbet #cottoncandy #baby #dress #cute #newborn #crochet #craft #creative #craftylady #creativity #babylove #handwork #handmade #etsyi

Started and completed while watching the Brazil v/s Chile world cup match on Friday – this adorable baby dress in sherbet green and pale cotton candy pink acrylic yarn. It’s perfect for a newborn little girl (and oh how summery and girly it is!). I’ll be making a hat and booties to match, to make a full set for my etsy store.

Green Summer Granny Blanket

20140519_190746

This Spring, as is normal, there is once again a mini “baby boom” amongst my friends and colleagues at work. I’ve 4 baby blankets to make in the span of 1.5 months. On top of moving, getting a shed redone (see other post) and everything else going on – somehow I have found time to work up two baby blankets very quickly.

What do you do for 6 hours waiting on your GNIB residency permit? Well, you make a baby blanket, of course. The Second one of the 4 I made is a pale green & dark green blanket in acrylic yarn. This is for some friends who aren’t going to find out the baby’s gender until after it comes. Thus, the “neutral” green.

What do you do for 6 hours waiting on your GNIB residency permit? Crochet nearly an entire baby blanket- that's what!! #waiting #boredom #gnib #ireland #residency #crochet #crochetaddict #creative #babyblanket #green #grannysquare #phoenixrosedesign #dub

This one was completed May 20, 2014, and most of it was done in a single day. It’s made in single strand crochet, and is a light airy summery soft feel to it. I’m sure, being that they live in Utah, it’ll be a big hit.

As always, you can find lovely creations like this in my shop – Phoenix Rose Design on Etsy
